Substandard care during hospital stays or care homes can lead to pressure sores developing – particularly for those with limited mobility. Often identified through the discolouration of the skin, pressure sores develop when a person is confined to a bed or chair for a long period of time. If not treated, pressure sores can cause further health problems through blood poisoning.
