Family Law Advice for Grandparents
We are very much aware of the need for grandparents to be involved in the lives of their grandchildren. Unfortunately sometimes relations between grandparents and their grandchildren are disrupted, either because of difficulties between them and the parent or parents, or because of social services involvement. In either situation grandparents are disadvantaged as they have no automatic legal rights in respect of their grandchildren.
However we are ideally placed to advise and assist grandparents, whether that be because of a breakdown in relations with the children’s parents or other carers or because of social work involvement. We have a highly experienced family team that deals with both private law family disputes and care proceedings. We have extensive experience in representing grandparents as well as other family members and we are able to obtain legal aid for our clients in appropriate cases. We offer a first free interview whatever the circumstances.
