A guarantee is a legal promise made by one party to another, usually during a commercial transaction or in a contract. Guarantees give assurance that the party making the promise will fulfil their side of the agreement. This is usually the promise to pay a debt or the guarantee to provide goods and services.
When someone breaks a guarantee, it can tear the whole agreement apart, resulting in you losing trust in the other party. In some instances, the breaking of a guarantee can result in financial losses. What was put in place to give assurance can suddenly feel like misinformation.
