Falls
Elderly people may be vulnerable to injuries from falls due to reduced mobility or problems with balance. When they enter a nursing home or hospital, a falls assessments should be carried out to access their level of risk. They should then be supervised and provided with appropriate mobility aids and precautions should be taken dependent upon their level of risk.
Injuries occur when assessments are not carried out or recommendations for prevention and mobility aids are not acted upon. In these circumstances the injury could have been avoided and you may have a claim for compensation.
We understand that compensation will not rectify what has happened to your loved one but it may enable you to access therapy which can assist with their recovery.
