Megan is a Solicitor within our Personal Injury and Inquest department.
Megan is a Solicitor in the Personal Injury and Inquest department at Ison Harrison Solicitors.
With a particular focus on inquests, Megan represents bereaved families throughout the inquest process, ensuring their voices are heard and justice is pursued. Recently, Megan represented the family in the inquest into the death of Grace Smith, in which the jury found there was a failure to adequately consider Grace’s risks and triggers given the known and available information, which resulted in a missed opportunity to provide appropriate care. She has also worked alongside Gemma Vine on numerous high-profile inquests, including the Shane Gilmer inquest, where she assisted in the campaign to change the law on crossbows, and the Ben Nelson-Roux inquest. Megan works closely with families affected by mental health deaths, providing compassionate and expert legal support throughout the inquest process, whilst also handling post – inquest Human Rights Act claims.
Megan is proud to be closely associated with INQUEST, a charity that provides expertise and support to bereaved families, with a focus on state care or detention related deaths. She is also a member of the INQUEST Lawyers Group.
In addition to her inquest work, Megan pursues complaints and claims against the police for unlawful arrest and assaults, advocating for the rights of individuals who have experienced misconduct.
Megan also specialises in criminal injuries compensation claims, offering her clients the guidance and support they need during challenging times. She has recently obtained compensation in the sum of £120,000.00 for a client who was the victim of an acid attack. Megan handles a variety of these types of claims, in particular, representing victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Furthermore, Megan handles personal injury cases, including public liability and employers liability claims.
