Ilkley branch manger Iain Oliver and Trainee Solicitor Jess Bourke in association with Ilkley’s Rotary Club visited the Nell Bank activity centre at the end of last month.
Nell Bank provides day and residential experiences for schools and community groups across the full age and ability range. The centre is aimed at under privileged, able bodied and disabled children and works to give them a fantastic outdoor learning experience.
The Rotarians have helped with the funding for an assault course at the Ilkley Centre which caters for schools throughout the Bradford district. Ison Harrison is a Rotary corporate partner and provide financial support to the club.
The visit included a tour and talk from the Centre Manager Dan Goody. Goody discussed the centres introduction of the ‘assisted place scheme’ which helps all children, regardless of ability to pay to attend the centre.
Goody highlighted in his talk that Nell Bank were keen to pursue other corporate sponsorship opportunities to help fund exciting learning areas at the centre and children’s visits to the centre if they are unable to afford it and give them a memorable experience.
