As Erb’s Palsy Awareness Week approaches, this year we are running a joint campaign with the Erb’s Palsy Group to find #ErbsPalsyHeroes!
Our campaign aims to profile and shine the spotlight on some inspirational individuals who have Erb’s Palsy, giving them a platform to show that a birth injury does not limit a child’s ability to live a full and happy life.
Together with the Erb’s Palsy Group, we are going to be showcasing our #ErbsPalsyHeroes! throughout Erb’s Palsy Awareness Week which starts on Monday 18th October.
What Is Erb’s Palsy Awareness Week?
Erb’s Palsy Awareness Week is an annual event designed to help raise awareness of Erb’s Palsy, a birth injury which can permanently damage the brachial plexus nerves in a baby and leave paralysis in the shoulder, elbow, wrist and fingers or all of these. It is estimated that 1 in 1,800 newborns are affected by Erb’s Palsy.
Every year we work hard to publish vital information regarding Erb’s Palsy and the impact it can have, plus facts and stats and interviews with the Erb’s Palsy Group members. You can find out more about Erb’s Palsy in our infographic here.
Debbie Robinson, Deputy Chairperson at the Erb’s Palsy Group, comments:
We are delighted to be running this joint campaign with Ison Harrison to shine a light on #ErbsPalsyHeroes and helping to further raise awareness of Erb’s Palsy itself, which is still largely misunderstood. The Erb’s Palsy Group is the only UK based organisation offering advice, information and support to families affected by Erb’s Palsy, and we value the support from Ison Harrison to help us in our mission.
