As a Leeds law firm, we are always keen to work with local charities and events and having worked with Variety, the children’s charity, on regular occasions, we thought their upcoming charity event would be great to get involved with.
Today, we are pleased to announce we will be official co-sponsors of the Crystal Event 2016. The event spans 2 days set in the stunning grounds of Ripley Castle Lakeside, North Yorkshire where we will be taking part in a wide range of activities to help raise funds for Variety as part of their support for the Rainbow Fund; a Harrogate-based charity that helps local children ‘blossom and grow’.
The event kicks off on Friday 29th April with the Crystal Shoot, a clay pigeon shoot, and then lunch to follow. The Ison Harrison team taking part in the shoot on Friday will consist of Emma Davison, Sally Baber & Sarah Hubery, who are all novices, with Iain Oliver and Jonathan Padgett who are both experienced shooters!
The following day, a glamorous ball takes places in the evening which is a prestigious, black tie event and sees some of Yorkshire’s most influential business leaders come together to raise money for a worthwhile charity. This year, we are organising an auction prize for the Crystal Ball and our team is looking forward to the evening which will see live music from ‘Huge’ (modestly described as the UK’s “maddest party band”!) plus celebrities Aljaz and Janette from Strictly Come Dancing and Ray Quinn (X Factor, Dancing on Ice) will be taking to the dancefloor to encourage everyone to get up and show off their fancy footwork. The four course dinner in the evening will be a signature menu from celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager.
The 2-day event at Ripley Castle promises to be an exciting one and we are proud to show our support of such a deserving children’s charity. Emma Davison, Ison Harrison Partner and Head of Private Family Law, has continued close involvement with children’s charities and the Family Law team are very supportive of ongoing Variety charity work. Funds raised from the Crystal Event 2016 will go towards Variety’s pledge to raise £56,000 to provide a transport incubator for Harrogate’s Special Care Baby Unit as well as the refurbishment of the Children’s Paediatric Outpatient Department at Harrogate Hospital.
