Sarah Laughey, Head of Family Law based at our Otley Office spoke to Ish from Otley Mobiles to see how Coronavirus has affected his business.
Ish closed for 3 months and for the first month downed- tools completely, but it wasn’t long before he was receiving messages to his Facebook page asking if he was still offering a repair service.
“I didn’t want to let down my loyal customer base as I knew how important connecting with family and friends was at this difficult time so I offered a ‘collect and delivery’ service. I would pick up a customer’s phone from their home address and return it within 48 hours. Obviously I wasn’t benefitting from the walk in business that I have with having an open shop but it did help me get through a difficult few months” said Ish.
Since reopening, Ish has put into place the required safety measures and ensures that the phones they are working on are sanitised.
“I do miss having a chat with my customers. I was talking to one chap for five minutes the other day and still couldn’t work out who it was under his mask! This virus has affected how I can interact with my customers and I miss that.”
Sarah Laughey, Family Solicitor at Ison Harrison said “Unfortunately lockdown has caused extra pressure and anxiety for some families. My team and I can provide advice on a wide range of issues including divorce and separation, domestic abuse and issues with regard to children including grandparents’ rights and financial provision. We offer a discreet and professional service and work with our clients to get the best possible solution.”
