Introducing Loreena Walker, one of the newest members to the Ison Harrison team! Loreena is a Chartered Legal Executive in our Private Family team.
How long have you worked at Ison Harrison?
I joined Ison Harrison in September 2024.
Where did you work previously?
I have previously worked for other well-known solicitors firms in West Yorkshire.
Describe your day to day role
No two days are ever the same in family law. Generally, day to day I take instructions from my clients to enable me to advise and/or progress their cases, whether it be to correspond with the other side, prepare an application for court, draft documents or attend and represent a client at court.
What is the most interesting part of your job?
The people I advise and represent, and their resilience in difficult situations (even if they may not know it at the time).
What do you find most challenging about your job?
Managing client’s expectations in complex children matters when emotions are particularly heightened.
What’s the most useful piece of advice you have been given in your career?
Sometimes it just doesn’t go the way you expected.
What do you like doing in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and I love a spa day (although these are very far and few these days).
Any interesting/little known facts about you?
I’m quite creative and enjoy designing invitations and gifts. I also enjoy baking and think I’m an excellent party planner.
What does IH being 100% employee-owned mean to you?
Team cultures usually exist within individual departments at law firms to ensure that the department reaches their targets. However, at Ison Harrison as all employees are personally invested in the firm’s success and want it to do well, there is a strong team commitment to achieve success for the whole firm as well as our clients.
