On 6th November 2024, it was announced that there would be almost 500 job cuts at Asda’s Head Offices in Leeds and Leicester.
If you work at Asda and are facing possible redundancy, call Ison Harrison solicitors today for a FREE no-obligation chat on 0113 284 5000 or email employment@isonharrison.co.uk
Asda is eliminating 475 positions at its headquarters in Leeds and Leicester and has informed office staff they will be required to work on-site at least three days a week starting in January.
This shift, communicated through an internal email, will impact around 5,000 office employees at Asda House and Britannia House in Leeds, along with the George House site in Leicester.
Although the announcement does not affect retail staff, this will naturally be a time of uncertainty and concern for many Asda workers who may work at the Leeds or Leicester headquarters.
How Can Ison Harrison Help?
Our employment law specialists have vast experience in advising on settlement agreements in redundancy cases. We will act promptly and with empathy and efficiency to ensure you get the right outcome, usually advising and completing immediately on contact being made.
We have been approached by a number of employees of the supermarket chain who have been notified that they are subject to losing their jobs as a result of the recent organisational changes being made and in the wake of the news that the supermarket giant has seen a 2.2% decline in total revenues.
In cases like this, the employer will often request a settlement agreement to ensure employees do not make an employment claim against them and in return offer fair compensation to avoid long, costly court cases that ultimately disadvantage both the organisation and the individuals.
A settlement agreement will set out the terms and conditions of the termination of employment and will provide certainty and clarity for both parties. Individuals are also required to seek independent legal advice before entering into a settlement agreement with their employer.
If you have received notification that you are likely to lose your job as a result of the recently announced cuts at Asda, and your employer wants you to sign a settlement agreement, we can offer advice and support to ensure you are offered the most agreeable terms and fair compensation.
Our Employment team is able to offer same day appointments so please do not hesitate to contact Ison Harrison Solicitors if you require independent legal advice on a settlement agreement. Call us now on 0113 284 5000 or email employment@isonharrison.co.uk
